Top 3 bird bird vids… because there are no good pink flamingo vids.

As it turns out, there are no good videos of pink flamingos on the Internet. I burned the better part of Saturday looking for them, so believe me when I say there are none. In lieu of pink flamingo videos, I offer the following. These are, in my opinion, the top three bird videos of all time:

1) from “The Secret Life of Birds” series, the lyrebird gives his all.

2) When trying to attract a mate in grassland habitat, what can a lesser florican do but jump up above the grassline and hope some little honey sees him?

3) The great bustard has the most incredible display of any bird I’ve ever seen. Honestly, it makes me a little swooney just to see it.

Check this one out, from the BBC’s “Planet Earth.” (The MC Hammer was added by the person who posted the video on YouTube.)

This one is my favorite bird video of all time.

Oh, my. Well, the photographer was asking for it by wearing that green shirt, don’t you think?

  4. Melissae says:

I never thought about that. Rule number one of field biology: don’t dress like the animal you are observing.

A bird moonwalking….this one even has commentary:
